Why the Shea?
I'm sure by now those closest to me are sick of hearing about how much I love shea butter. I'm trying to remember not to drive them too mad with my raving about it. ;)
I finally got everything together, my packaging, testing, formulating and trials and now have listed on my site: 'Whipped Shea Skin Therapy'. It is the first listed of a new 'Shea Therapy' line I will be offering of skin care products made with high percentages of (wait for it......) shea! :)
Now, I don't want to make any 'medical claims' as to what shea butter can do for you, so I'll just tell you why I have come to like it so much. :) Of course, different skin types will have varrying results, but since this is a natural substance, not a lotion formulated with dozens of ingredients to make up the qualities of a natural substance, shea butter will provide the most successful skin conditioning to the widest variety of people.
Shea butter has been known to:
* Help heal scars, burns, and stretch marks
* Prevent ashy skin, chapping, and skin rashes
* Fortifies cuticles and nails
* Help prevent skin irritation for babies
* Using after shaving can prevent irritation and restore your skin's natural luster
* Ideal for dry skin, dermatitis, eczema, sunburn, and athlete's foot
* Rejuvenate skin pores and adds elasticity to skin
In addition, it is quick to absorb (not evaporate, like lotions do), naturally contains vitamins A and E, and is a light butter that I've been able to use to replace the moisturizer I have used for my face since I was 12 (and paying department store prices for!). Right before I go to bed, I hit all the trouble spots (although, they aren't trouble anymore, since I've been using the shea religiously!) and whatever is left on my hands that hasn't already absorbed I use to massage into my face. It's just the right amount and in the morning I love the silky, satin feeling my feet, hands, legs and face have from their overnight treatment. Added bonus: I smell so yummy! I bet you'd love it too.

Once again, you have an excellent educative post about the products you make and sell. I learned more about shea here than in all the department store hype. As soon as the lip balms are listed too, I am hinting (broadly!) for Valentine's Day.
