A Love-spill....
Fragrance oils are pretty potent out of the bottle. In a smallish size batch of soap, like 3.5#, I use only 2.5-3 oz of fragrance. So, for 56 oz of carrier oils (like palm and castor, or coconut) there's only 3 oz of fragrance.
Sitting by the soap pot was an 8 ounce bottle of Victoria's Secret type 'Lovespell' fragrance. I was planning color and re-reading the recipe I had planned to use (one from the handful of 'indulgent' recipes I created using shea butter) and I knocked the bottle over. Of course the lid wasn't on, and with a few glugs there was about 4 ounces of Lovespell puddling around my soaping utensils. I fought the headache that was instantly building and I mopped up the very fragrant mess. At least there was enough left in the bottle to make the batch I had planned!
There is a lingering hint of Lovespell around here, even after 3 batches with lavender essential oil and one very strong ginger orange.
I like the sweet suble pink of the soap. It's simple and smells great. I love that some of the white swirls turned out looking a bit like hearts. Here's 'Love Potion #9'......
